Am I Passionate?

I work in a very fast-paced environment for years now and I do feel like I have been working there forever. Frustrations and stress arise easily. If you’re not used to adapting to corporate “rules” and “policies” that you have to follow, you’d go mad. Just a few months ago, one of the newly hired bosses at work had a meeting with us. Honestly, I don’t really like going through this kind of meeting because they only say the same thing over and over and over again. It’s like scolding a 5 year old kid. My new boss started yapping about this and that and blah blah blah. I didn’t know what he was talking about at first but since I heard the word “passionate” I had no other choice but to pay attention. Hmmm, which lead me to ask myself how passionate am I? Am I passionate enough? Am I truly capable of being passionate towards opposite sex? Or, what does really passion mean to me? So here, I took the time to truly think about this passion thing and here’s what had to say:

Your Passion is Purple!

You’ve got a ton of passion, but you don’t always wear it on your sleeve. If something truly excites you, you let your inner intensity shine through.

But otherwise, your passion tends to morph into energy … which you never lack.

You’re a balanced woman, knowing when to turn on the fire in your heart.

What Type of Passionate Woman Are You?

That being said, I therefore conclude that I am passionate indeed. But hang on a sec, I have yet to rationalize why I think and agree that I am passionate…

1. I eat with passion
2. I shop with passion
3. I blog with passion
4. I piss with passion
5. I rant with passion
6. I chat with passion
7. I drink coffee with passion
8. I play trivia games with passion
9. I think with passion
10. I love with passion (heh!)
11. I write with passion
12. I get upset with enough passion in mind
13. I walk with passion
14. I read with passion
15. I make no sense at all…because I am bursting with passionate thoughts *bleh*

Dubito, ergo sum…passionate! Yay!

How Daring Are You?

Though they may not be daredevils in the strictest sense of the word, some people enjoy the public image associated with being adventurous. When we think of such types, certain characters come to mind, like Mario Andretti, speed car racer; Sir Richard Branson, Virgin Group CEO and hot air balloonist; and Robby Knievel, stunt motorcyclist. Studies show that daring persons often have more self-confidence and higher IQ levels than those who are more reluctant. But this is only part of the picture.

At the Institute of Psychiatry at the University of London, H.J. Eysenck and S.G. Eysenck performed extensive research on adventuresome people. In their sample of 1,200 subjects they found that daredevils are more extraverted and impulsive on average, but that contrary to popular belief, their risk-taking is not necessary a sign of neurotic personality. The psychologists concluded that about one-half to two-thirds of our capacity for derring-do is probably inherited.

Test: How much of an Andretti or Knievel are you? The following quiz lists items similar to those presented by the Eysencks. Respond “True” or “False” to the items below to determine how daring you are.

1. When shopping, I usually stick to brands I am familiar with.

2. It upsets me when one of my friends is upset.

3. Unhappy people who feel sorry for themselves irritate me.

4. It is silly for people to cry out of happiness.

5. Many animal lovers are too concerned about the comfort and feelings of animals.

6. I feel better after having a few cocktails.

7. I would probably feel sympathetic to a stranger in a group.

8. Public displays of affection annoy me somewhat.

9. I would prefer a job that required travel and change to one that kept me at home most of the time.

10. I save money regularly.

Scoring: To tally your score, give yourself 1 point each response that matches yours.

#1 & 2: False #3 to 6: True #7: False #8 & 9: True #10: False

An average score on adventurousness falls between 4 & 6.

(My self verdict: I scored 6 out of ten questions and it’s true that I am an “average” type adventuresque person)
